November 2018 saw the Insolvency Service grant its 250,000 Debt Relief Order (DRO), providing a low cost solution to a quarter of a million people.
A DRO is an alternative to traditional insolvency routes and deals with low-level but troublesome debts for individuals.
Many people find themselves with relatively low level debt i.e. under £20,000 but this amount of debt, to an individual, can seem overwhelming and can quickly spiral out of control. An individual with little in the way of assets, can apply for a DRO to help get their finances back on track.
